I recently went to China for a jade stone auction in Ping Zhou, Guangdong Province. The auction of jade stones imported from Burma was conducted in a closed bid. The raw stones in the pictures below give you an idea of what the stones are like before being made into jewelry. It was an interesting experience! |

The stone after cut. You will see the base of this opaque Burmese jade stone is actually white with patches of green and black colours in it. A lot of people have the misconception that jade is born entirely green. If it were the case, coloured jade stones of high transparency would not have been so pricy. | ||
